In 2010, while working together at Ernst & Young, Robert Boscacci and Cameron Fleming shared more than just an office; they shared a vision. Both born and raised in BC, they felt an obligation to use their professional expertise to make a lasting difference in the lives of people in their own community.
As they dug deeper into the needs of British Columbians, they discovered that across the province, families were struggling not just with finding the right medical equipment, but with the emotion and stress that came with trying to care for someone they love. It wasn’t just about providing the best products; it was about helping people hold on to dignity, reclaim independence, and finding relief during life’s most difficult chapters, by getting them the right products at the right time, and on their terms.
Fueled by purpose and compassion, Robert and Cameron acquired Healthlinc Medical Equipment in 2012. With one location, a small team, and a bold Canadian spirit, they set out to transform the industry through innovation, high quality Canadian products and next-day service across BC. One family, one story, and one solution at a time.
13 years later, HME has opened its 10th location, recently adding stores in Abbotsford & Kamloops. 10 locations, 130 employees, BC’s largest medical distribution company. HME has built a high-performing and diverse workforce that strives to provide excellent client solutions every day.
With 62% of our team born outside of Canada, diversity isn’t just a value at HME, it’s a lived experience that shapes who we are. Our commitment to inclusion is reflected at every level of the organization, including our senior leadership team, where three dynamic women lead the way as our COO, Head of Sales, and Head of Operations.
Our team lives our values. From the moment they walk through the door, employees are brand ambassadors, representing HME with professionalism. We pursue excellence by constantly searching for ways to improve the client experience. Positive collaboration shows when our sales reps, technicians, and fulfillment teams deliver time-sensitive setups for hospital discharges. Our team is competitive, not just with others in the industry, but with ourselves, pushing every day for better outcomes. And no matter the situation, we own it and solve it; we don’t pass the problem along; we take it on, find the right answer, and follow through until the job is done, because at HME, we know every solution changes a life.
As we look ahead, our vision is bold and built on care. We are not focused on recognition alone, but on being known in every Canadian home because of the difference we make. We imagine a Canada where no one is limited by their mobility, their age, or their circumstances, where everyone has the equipment, access, and support to live fully and independently. When that support is needed, they don’t wonder where to turn, they turn to HME.
To get there we are expanding with purpose.
We began with one purpose: to empower independence. We are just getting started.
Proudly Canadian-owned, every decision we make, every partnership we build, and every life we touch is guided by care, purpose, and impact. Now, we are ready to lead the nation in mobility, accessibility, and medical equipment. One solution, one life, one mission to make a difference.
