August 9, 2024 (Richmond, B.C.) – HME Home Health Ltd. is pleased to announce the acquisition of Coast Ability in Sechelt, B.C. The acquisition will see the current Sechelt location be transitioned and re-branded to be HME Home Health’s eighth location in British Columbia.
“The acquisition of Coast Ability is in line with HME’s strategic interest to continue our growth in B.C.,” said Robert Boscacci, CEO & Co-Founder. “HME will now be able to serve the over 30,000 residents of the Sunshine Coast – from Sechelt to Powell River.”
Robert continued, “The Sunshine Coast offers HME a new market to expand our services and our exclusive HME Signature Series line of products.”
The acquisition was made possible by the retirement of Coast Ability owner Greg Patton.
“Greg will work in the coming weeks to transition Coast into HME and then will be entering a well-deserved retirement after many dedicated years serving clients across the Sunshine Coast,” said Boscacci.
Cameron Fleming, CIIO & Co-Founder, noted, “Coast Ability was a perfect fit for HME, from a staffing, location and business point of view. We look forward to expanding our HME brand and working closely with clients, therapists, facilities, and First Nations on the Sunshine Coast.”
HME’s COO, Michelle Harvey, noted, “HME is thrilled to be acquiring an amazing Coast Ability Team and welcoming them into our HME Family. They’ve built a great brand and have many loyal customers, who we are excited to bring HME’s products and services to with an expansion of offerings in the coming months.”
“HME’s leadership team will be on-site in Sechelt during the first weeks of the transition and look forward to meeting clients and the greater community,” said Harvey.
Starting from a single operation in B.C.’s Lower Mainland a decade ago, HME has expanded aggressively across the province in recent years and, with today’s acquisition, now has eight locations and over 80,000 sq ft. of office and warehouse in Richmond, Victoria, Surrey, Nanaimo, North Vancouver, Kelowna, and now Sechelt.
The company’s workforce is comprised of over 125 highly-trained professionals, technicians, and support staff.
HME Home Health offers a vast array of mobility and accessibility devices and medical equipment. Items include wheelchairs, power chairs, walkers, hospital beds, mattresses, other durable medical equipment, stairlifts, vertical platform lifts, ramps, and other installed products.
