To get the most out of a battery powered Mobility Device follow these general directions:
When should batteries be charged, and for how long?
Note: Batteries should be fully charged prior to the first use.
Charging after first use will depend on how often the mobility device is used. If the mobility device is used daily, then charge it every night for at least 8 hours. If the mobility device is not used daily, charge the device whenever the batteries deplete to 50% capacity or at least once per week. Charge batteries frequently to maximize their lifespan!
How far can I travel on a single charge?
This will depend on a variety of factors, including the type of device being used, the terrain it is being used on, the size of the batteries, and how well the batteries are cared for.
How can I ensure the longevity of my batteries?
A fully charged deep-cycle battery will provide reliable performance and extended battery life. Here are some tips to ensure your batteries last:
I used to get better range on my old batteries versus the new ones that were just installed. Is something wrong?
Often new batteries require a few charging cycles to get the peak performance. Continue to charge the batteries regularly and the range you will experience from the batteries will increase with time.
