Meet Uujawal! Moving from India with his family, Uujawal was selected for numerous chemistry scholarships throughout the United States and Canada and ultimately decided on attending UBC this fall semester. At 19 years old, Uujawal faces the everyday challenges of Muscular Dystrophy (MD) and realized that he needed the right powered wheelchair to safely not only move around UBC’s large campus and classrooms, but his future chemistry labs.
Upon meeting our Senior Sales Team Member, Rob Fuzesi at our Richmond location, Uujawal was able to test out the Permobil M3 Powered Wheelchair! Soon after, he was also able to trial the wheelchair at his UBC residence and even tour his classrooms. With the elevating functions of this wheelchair, Uujawal is also able to elevate himself to a safe height of the lab benches, something he would not be able to do without this special function. After finding the perfect chair for his needs, Uujawal and his family decided to proceed with the M3 and initially had to return the trial wheelchair and wait for the new one to be delivered. Fortunately, our friends at Permobil have allowed Uujawal to continue using the M3 demo until his new chair arrives!
Huge shout out and thank you to Drew Toth from Permobil and HME’s Rob Fuzesi for putting together a memorable experience for Uujawal!
