Carla has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and is also a RESNA certified Assertive Technology Professional (ATP). With over 16 years of experience as a Rehabilitation Seating & Mobility Consultant, Carla has worked with a diverse group of clientele ranging from Pediatric to Geriatric clients. She specializes in complex Rehab Seating, Power/Manual Mobility, as well as Pediatrics. Carla enjoys helping individuals and their families improve their quality of life by finding accessibility solutions and appropriate equipment for them.

Katie Allesia

With a Bachelor’s of Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia, Katie has volunteered in various areas of the rehabilitation industry including the ICORD Spinal Cord Centre, Neuromotion Physiotherapy, and First Steps Spinal Cord Wellness Center. Katie previously worked as a registered Kinesiologist for over 2 years performing active rehab with ICBC clients. In the past 5 years at HME, Katie has had many different roles as she continues to grow within the company. She brings extensive product knowledge and excels in wheelchair adjustments. Now as a Seating & Mobility Consultant Katie specializes in all areas of Rehab equipment and works with a diverse group of clients ranging from Pediatric to Geriatric.

Nicole Saxvik

With a background in Kinesiology and over 2 years of experience working in the medical equipment industry, Nicole is qualified in all aspects of rehab equipment. She understands that every client is different and as a result, takes the time to find the right equipment that is needed to help each client gain independence and improve their quality of life.

Hailey Yonge

Hailey has a bachelor of business degree and over 10 years of experience in the customer service industry. Specializing in Pediatric seating and mobility, she has found a passion in helping kids find the right equipment to enhance their mobility and provide them with more independence in their everyday life. Hailey also plays a vital role in coordinating the HME Gives Back Funding program, awarding recipients up to $1,500 each month to utilize on equipment and/or therapy. Every day, Hailey commits to understanding what each client needs and finding the best solution and equipment that aspires for greater mobility and accessibility.

Daniel Barrett

Daniel came to HME with 9 years of experience working with basic medical equipment and seating setups for tilt chairs, manual wheelchairs, and lifts. In two years, Daniel has obtained training from major manufactures like Invacare, Sunrise, Pride and Permobil. He has become an experienced programmer and can make many adjustments to how power chairs work and interact with the user. He is familiar with many seating options and customizations and works hard to find the best comfort solutions for his clients. Now as a Seating & Mobility Consultant Daniel specializes in all areas of Rehab equipment and works with a diverse group of clients ranging from Pediatric to Geriatric.

Michelle Harvey

With over 17 years in the Mobility & Accessibility industry and an Occupational Therapy background, Michelle brings technical experience and a wealth of knowledge to the HME team. Throughout her career, Michelle has been a speaker at the International Seating Symposium, the European Seating Symposium, and the Canadian Seating and Mobility Conference. Additionally, she is also certified in the Ride® Custom Certification Course and as a Registered Rehabilitation Technology Supplier from the National Registry of Rehabilitation Technology Suppliers.

Rachel Mackeigan

In the past 2 years, Rachel has had many different roles in HME’s Victoria office from client service representative, sales coordinator, to now a Pediatrics and Adult Rehab Sales Team Member. Combining her 9 years of customer service and managerial experience working with animals, children, and their families as well as her background in Medical Terminology, Rachel is well-equipped to continue serving clients in the Vancouver Island communities. Working alongside Vancouver Island’s Sales Manager, Graham Plant, Rachel has had the awesome opportunity of learning hands-on with an expert in the field especially when providing exceptional service to HME’s clients and their families; ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and equipment for their needs.

Graham Plant

Director of Business Development

Graham graduated with an Advanced Diploma in Biomedical Engineering and has over 13 years specifically as a Seating and Mobility Consultant. Today, he is HME Vancouver Island’s Sales and Business Development Manager. Consistently, Graham applies his strong aptitude for seating, positioning, posture, and advanced mobility within the field of power, tilt, manual, and rigid wheelchair frame technology in all areas of Rehab, Accessibility, Pediatrics, and Long-Term Care. Graham is also a Dealer Member and HME’s representative on the board of Home Medical Equipment Providers Association of BC (HMEPA).
